Teen Hay Ride

The teens will have a hay ride and hot dog roast at Dustin and Ashley Moss'  on October20. The van will leave from the church at 6:00 pm.

"Trunk-or-Treat"

If you would like to participate in the church's alternative to traditional Halloween activities, please sign up for our annual "Trunk-or-Treat" here at church. Set up begins at 4:30 pm, and "Trunk-or-Treat" begins at 5:30.  Sign up to bring your car and share your treats--and your fatih--with our children.

Leadership Meetings

This month's leadership meetings will be held on Monday, October 30, beginning at 6:00 pm.

Church Election

Nomination ballots for the church election have been received from our members. The nominees will be contacted and those who agree to serve will be on the ballot when the church election is held in November. Members must be at least 16 years old and must be a member for at least one year in order to vote.

Wednesday Night Classes

  The adult class which meets in the large front classroom is studying Hebrews. The men's class is studying Ray Van Der Laan's "That the World May Know".  Amanda Boberg is leading a study called"Respectable Sins" in the ladies' class.  Roy Peterson's class is studying the Gospel of Luke in the library. There are also children's classes for all ages.

Faith Promise Month

October is our mission emphasis month (Faith Promise). Promise sheets are in the church foyer.  Our goal this year is $70,000.

October 22: Dave Embree, Christian Campus Ministry, Missouri State University

Faith promise tally will be held on October 29.

A fellowship carry-in dinner will follow our morning service on October 29.

 

Hobo Stew Dinner at Peterson's

Come one, come all to the annual "Hobo Stew" dinner at Roy and Penny Peterson's farm on October 14.  This annual event is filled with good food, goood company, and good fellowship for all.  Come late in the afternoon and join us for the big meal at 5 pm. Bring your favorite covered dishes. If you play an instrument, bring it with you: we will be playing music around 3:00 pm. Our praise and worship band will also play for us. The "stew" will be provided. (Roy's Road-Kill Cafe welcomes all varities of food!)  You are sure to be blessed by attending.

"Journey" notes

If you do not plan on being in this year's "Journey to Bethlehem", please tell Jackie Loveall or Carol Ringer as soon as possible.

"Journey" set-up at church begins on November 10.

The "Journey" is scheduled for December 8 and 9.

Ladies Retreat

The annual ladies retreat here at church, to which all area church ladies are invited, will be held on November 11. The keynote speaker is Carol Stine, wife of the president of St. Louis Christian College. There will be a morning session and an afternooon session. Lunch will be provided. Registration begins at 9 am (or you may register by emailing the church at crockerchristianchurch@windstream.net or calling the church office at 573-736-5121).  All ladies are encouraged to attend. There is a sign-up sheet in the foyer for our members to sign to attend and to bring food for the retreat.

Free Womern's Center "Walk for Life"

The Free Women's Center's annual "Walk for Life" will take place on October 14. Registration is at 8:00 am and the 5K walk-run abegins at 9:00 am. The events starts at the Waynesville Park. Each runner will receive a special prize.

Veteran's Day Recognition

If you or a member of your family is a veteran and would like to have a picture added to our Veteran's Day slide show, please give a picture to Jan York no later than November 5.  Please also include branch of military and dates of service.
