"Journey" Meeting, Outdoor Market

There will be a meeting in the sanctuary immediately after church on Sunday, November 26, for all outdoor market workers for our "Journey to Bethlehem."

Escape 2017: Young Adults

Escape 2017, for young adults ages 18-26, will be held at the Gasconade Christian Service Camp, December 15-17. The cost is $45 per person and covers all food for the weekend. Check-in starts at 8 p.m. Friday, so eat beforehand! Dress warm and bring toiletries, towels and bedding for the weekend.  You can register and pay online through the camp website,, or mail your registration form and check to Parkview Christian Church, 1362 South Campbell Ave., Springfield, Mo. 65807. You may also call Cole Sagstetter at 785-410-5935.

Church Election

Nomination ballots for the church election have been received from our members. The nominees will be contacted and those who agree to serve will be on the ballot when the church election is held in November. Members must be at least 16 years old and must be a member for at least one year in order to vote.

Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, there will be no Wednesday night meal or service here at church on November 22.

Wednesday Night Classes

  The adult class which meets in the large front classroom is studying Hebrews. The men's class is studying Ray Van Der Laan's "That the World May Know".  Amanda Boberg will  be leading a  study called "Living Whole in a Broken World", by Julie Gariss.This is   a 7 week study of the life of Joseph.  Roy Peterson's class is studying the Gospel of Luke in the library. There are also children's classes for all ages.

"Journey" notes

There are sign-up sheets on the table in the church foyer to (a) bring cookies for the "Journey", (b) bring cider for the "Journey", (c) march in the Waynesville Christmas Parade on December 3.  We need a lot of cookies and about 35 gallons of cider. Thank you for your help in meeting these needs.

A walk-through practice for the "Journey" will be at 6:00 pm on December 3.

Dress rehearsal for "Journey to Bethlehem" will be on December 6.

Our 11th annual "Journey to Bethlehem" is scheduled for December 8 and 9, from 5:00-9:00 each night.

Upcoming Blood Drive at Church

Community Blood Center of the Ozarks will conduct a blood drive at the church from 1:30-5:30 p.m. on December 18 in the church multipurpose room. Everyone who can give is encouraged to do so; please help us reach or goal of 12 units. All blood types are needed. Thank you in advance for your participation!

Waynesville Christmas Parade

We are beginning to collect candy to pass out at the Waynesville Christmas Parade in December. We represent our "Journey to Bethlehem" every year in the parade, and we give out candy along the route. A box will be provided in the church lobby for candy donations. Thank you!
