Trunk -or- Treat will be held on the church grounds beginning at 5:30 p.m. on October 31. We will have a place for each vehicle to park for the event, and all participants will be responsible for bringing their own candy or treats. Please sign the list in the church foyer to participate. We hope to have a lot of people participating, and we appreciate your help very much. You may decorate your trunks, if you wish.
The annual election of church officers and leaders will be held at a congregational meeting on November 2. Anyone who has been a member of the church for at least a year and is 16 years old or over may vote in the election.
D.J. Maxey will be in revival with the Roby Christian Church Nov.6-9. We will be taking the bus for all who wish to attend on November 7. We will leave from church at 5 p.m., stop at Price Cutters to eat dinner, and go on to Roby to enjoy the revival meeting.
We will march in the Waynesville Christmas Parade on December 7 to represent our "Journey to Bethlehem". We encourage all who can march in the parade to do so; our presence represents the real meaning of Christmas. We also need a lot of candy to distribute along the parade route, which may be left in the box in the foyer.
A fund to purchase a new church bus has been started. If you would like to give to this fund, please mark your donaton as "bus fund" so that it will go to the appropriate place. This fund is intended to be separate from the church tithe and missions giving, and we ask that you not take from these funds to give to the new bus fund. It is simply open for those who can give or wish to give in order to purchase a much-needed church bus. Thank you, and God bless you for your service to Him.
All ladies are invited to attend the new ladies' Bible study on Wednesday evenings. The class will continue to be taught by Amanda Boberg and will meet in Roy Peterson's Sunday school classroom.
The third annual ladies dinner and show will be held on Saturday, November 8, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the church. All ladies are invited, and this would be a great time to bring along an unchurched friend. Please see Amanda Boberg, and be sure to sign the list in the foyer so that we can plan on how much food we will need. We hope to see you ladies there!
Our annual "Journey to Bethlehem" is scheduled for December 12 and 13. Alternate dates, in case of inclement weather (such as we had last year) are December 19 and 20. Times for the event will be posted as it approaches.
